The leaves have changed from green to yellow, reds, and oranges. The air is crisp, yet comfortable. A gentle breeze permeates through the quiet countryside. It’s the middle of October again, and in Ashtabula County that means one thing: Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Festival! This year, the festival will be held on October 14-15. The 2023 version of the festival will be the 39th. Many activities will be held at the Ashtabula County Fairgrounds as in years past. The festival will include a parade, crafts, games, live entertainment, food, and much more. In addition, each bridge will have a designated “host” as you drive through the county on the covered bridge trail. In all, there are currently 19 covered bridges in Ashtabula County with 17 of them still driveable.
At Woodsong Acres, we are blessed to be located near one of the most beautiful covered bridge locations with rolling farms and wooded land in all directions. State Road Covered Bridge is located just a short two minute drive or 15 minute walk from Woodsong Acres. The State Road Covered Bridge spans across the Conneaut Creek. The Town lattice span bridge was constructed in 1983 encompassing some 97,000 feet of southern pine and oak replacing the original covered bridge which was built in 1831 for a mere $100. The original bridge stood until 1898.
You can’t pick a better month to come and visit us here at Woodsong Acres. We can’t wait to share our little slice of fall heaven with you soon! See you at Woodsong and see you at the bridges!
